The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced that the federal government will stop issuing paper checks for federal benefits after September 30th, 2025.

If you still receive a paper check for your federal benefits, you will have to switch to direct deposit to receive them. You can do so by going to GoDirect.gov or calling the Electronic Payment Solution Center at 800-967-6857.
