We want to help local students build good saving habits and learn the importance of managing their money from an early age. That’s why WFCU is giving Westport Community Schools students $25 to start their Smart Start Savings Account!
Here’s what you need to do:
1. Open a Smart Start Savings Account for your child at WFCU or online. The account will be opened in your child’s name using their Social Security number. If your child doesn’t have their own email address or phone number, you can use your contact information instead.
2. If your child is under 18, a parent or guardian must be a joint owner on the account. Simply add yourself when promoted in the account opening process.
3. Once the account is opened, WFCU will deposit $25 into the account.
You can open an account online or by stopping by WFCU to open one in person.
